The Nunes memo detailing federal surveillance warrants and the FBI resulted in an interesting twist: Civil-rights liberals are concerned about the Bureau’s ability to conduct independent investigations  untainted by politics, and law-n-order conservatives are concerned about privacy.

A liberal is a conservative who’s just been arrested, the old joke goes, and a conservative is a liberal who’s just been mugged.
